What Is Hospice

Hospice is a promise of comfort for terminally ill patients and those who love them. An innovative concept in care by skilled professionals and volunteers working in partnership with a patient’s doctor, Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual services and support for the whole family.

Because your life matters, we offer you choices, support and comfort.

Our team of physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains and volunteers are available to respond to your needs. They work with each patient to make a care plan that puts the wishes of the patient first. The plan enables patients to live the best possible quality of life surrounded and supported by loved ones, friends, and committed caregivers.

Hospice also serves caregivers. It trains and supports in order to prepare them for the changes throughout end-of-life care. Family members and loved ones receive counseling and bereavement care to help them cope with the many losses they face during the illness and with the grief they experience afterward.

Hospice services are paid for by Medicare, Medicaid in most states, and most private insurance plans and HMOs.

If you’re visiting this site, it’s likely you are a patient facing a life-limiting illness or you’re a family member or friend who is trying to help someone in need.

At Auburn Crest Hospice, our purpose is to bring you help and hope however we can.
